Reason to install at turbo timer:

🔧 1. To Protect the Turbocharger

When you drive hard — especially under boost — your turbo spins extremely fast (often 100,000+ RPM) and gets very hot. If you shut the engine off immediately:

The oil stops circulating, but the turbo remains hot.

This can cause the remaining oil in the turbo to burn or “coke”, forming carbon deposits in the oil lines and bearings.

Over time, this leads to premature turbo wear or failure.

A turbo timer keeps the engine idling (usually 30 seconds to 2 minutes), so:

Cool oil continues flowing through the turbo bearings.

The turbo’s temperature drops to a safer level.

Oil doesn’t overheat or carbonize.
